The book "The Tappan Zee Bridge" by Robert Panetta, was published by the Rockland Historical Society in 2010. Contained in the book is an audio CD of interviews with people who were directly involved in building, using, or just being in the way of constructing the Tappan Zee Bridge in the 1950s. The oral history recounts the changes that occurred to Rockland County as a result of the bridge.
The bridge spans the Hudson River and connects the towns of Nyack and Tarrytown - Rockland with Westchester County - and is part of the New York State Thruway 87 which runs from Canada to New York City.
David Simons created a soundscape to serve as context for the oral history.
Sound assemblage, edited interviews, and music are by David Simons.
Narration by Travis Jackson.

It's interesting to note that almost exactly 10 years later, on Jan 18, 2019, the last section of the Tappan Zee Bridge was destroyed in a controlled demolition which inaugurated the new Mario M. Cuomo bridge, which was built right along side the old one.
